Market overview of the Nuts and Seeds category in Western Europe

Consumption of Nuts and Seeds (N&S) grew significantly over past several years amid global insurgence of Health and Wellness trend. The Nuts and Seeds as snacks segment enjoyed double digit growth across key markets of the Western Europe. The category, however, is dominated by private label which mostly plays in natural segment while branded players are historically solid in flavored and salted territories. Our job on this project was to analyze key Western European markets, derive opportunities and challenges for Nuts and Seeds category, and recommend specific steps for brands development considering snacking in the larger context of savory snacking.
